Special Olympics Massachusetts Event Volunteer Registration Portal
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Special Olympics Massachusetts! Events are great opportunities to support Special Olympics athletes. You can register for one event, or as many events throughout the year that fit your schedule! Events include competitions and fundraising events. Event details are available below to the left under "News". To register for an event, please click on the event link on the right to register through the event registration page. On the event registration page, you will be able to select your specific shift time. All event registration forms are located below to the right under "sign up."
Once you submit your volunteer registration for an event, you are automatically approved and registered to volunteer. You will receive an initial confirmation email that your registration form was received. The week of the event, you will receive a detailed confirmation email with a reminder of your shift time, event address, and other event information. Please add Volunteer@specialolympicsma.org to your email address book to ensure you receive all event communication.

The Volunteer E-Newsletter is emailed once per month and is the best way to stay updated on upcoming volunteer opportunities, including when registration is available for additional events throughout the year and throughout the state. You can also check this page every few weeks to check out new day of event volunteer opportunities.

Thank you for registering to volunteer at the New Bedford Polar Plunge on Saturday, March 23rd at East Beach located at 1014 E Rodney French Blvd in New Bedford, MA 02744. The New Bedford Polar Plunge is an annual fundraising event organized by local law enforcement (LETR). The Polar Plunge raises funds and awareness to support year-round sports training and competitions for athletes and ensures that no athlete is charged to participate with Special Olympics. Participants who have fundraised on behalf of Special Olympics will be braving frigid temperatures and jumping into the cold waters of East Beach! Volunteers will support this event by assisting with registration, event set up, and event clean up. Volunteer registration is available on the link to the right, or directly HERE.
The Marlborough Polar Plunge is on Saturday, February 16th at the Special Olympics MA headquarters located at 512 Forest Street in Marlborough, MA 01752 hosted by local law enforcement (LETR). This annual fundraising event raises money and awareness to support Special Olympics athletes and programs year-round. Participants who have fundraised on behalf of Special Olympics will be braving the frigid temperatures and jumping into an icy cold pool! Volunteers will be assisting with the event including event set-up, registration, t-shirt distribution, food distribution, and event clean up. Experienced photographers and certified medical volunteers are also needed. Volunteer registration is available on the link to the right, or directly HERE.
The regional Brockton Bowling Qualifying Tournament is on Sunday, January 27th at Westgate Lanes located at 65 Westgate Drive in Brockton, MA 02301. This is the first tournament of the winter season for traditional bowling teams and is in preparation of the state tournament, Winter Games on March 9th and 10th in the Worcester area. Volunteers will assist with event set up and clean up, lane monitoring, scoring, and awards. All volunteer roles are social roles and a great opportunity to get to know Special Olympics athletes and fellow volunteers. Please join us for the regional Bowling Qualifying Tournament on Sunday, February 3rd at Spare Time Lanes located at 525 Pleasant Street in Northampton, MA 01060. This is the first tournament of the winter season for Western MA traditional bowling teams. This tournament is also in preparation Winter Games, the final state tournament. Volunteers will assist with event set-up and clean-up, lane monitors, scoring, and awards. All volunteer roles are very social and a great opportunity to meet and get to know Special Olympics athletes and fellow volunteers.
